The 13th Session of the Economic Cooperation Council (ECO) High-Level Working Group on İslamabad-Tehran-İstanbul (ITI) freight train was held in Türkiye with a focus on enhancing infrastructure and transport capacities as well as the revision of the financial participation of the private sector and the Islamic Development Bank in this railway corridor. Kuwait signs contract with Türkiye to buy $367 mln worth of drones

Kuwait has concluded a contract worth $367 million with Turkish defence firm Baykar to buy its TB2 drones through direct negotiations between the two governments, the Kuwaiti army said in a statement on Tuesday. The statement did not reveal how many drones would be delivered to Kuwait or when. International demand for Baykar's TB2 drones soared after they featured in conflicts in Syria, Libya and Azerbaijan and interest in them increased further following their use by Ukraine's military to thwart Russian forces. Azerbaijan and Türkiye to conduct 16 joint military exercises in 2023

In his remarks he made following a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan stated that Azerbaijan and Türkiye would organise 16 joint military exercises this year. Noting that Baku and Ankara will maintain their common foreign policy stance, Aliyev also added that the unity of Azerbaijan and Türkiye was important for the development, stability and security of the region.

Turkish Special Forces in Kosovo

A battalion of special forces has been deployed in Kosovo upon request of NATO Allied Joint Force Command amid rising tensions recently, Anadolu Agency reports. The first battalion affiliated to the 65th Mechanized Infantry Brigade Command (Lüleburgaz) arrived in Kosovo in vehicles at the weekend. The second part of the special forces departed from Çorlu military airport and arrived at “Adem Jashari” International Airport in Pristina yesterday. Turkish soldiers were welcomed by Sabri Tunç Angili, Turkish Ambassador to Pristina. The special forces then headed to the “Sultan Murat” Barracks.
