Erdoğan: Türkiye can enter Israel and help Palestinians

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said last night that Türkiye could enter Israel to help the Palestinians, as it once did in Libya and Nagorno-Karabakh.

"We must be very powerful so that Israel cannot do what it is doing now in Palestine," the Turkish president said at a rally of his ruling AK Party in the Black Sea city of Rize, praising the success of the arms industry.

"Just as we entered Karabakh and Libya, we can take similar actions for them," Erdoğan stated during a speech aired on state television.

The Turkish President did not provide any information about the type of intervention he was considering, and representatives of his party did not share details regarding his statement. Israel has not made any statements thus far.

In 2020, Ankara deployed troops and military equipment to Libya to support the Government of National Unity of Libya and its leader, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh.
