The Turkish Defence Industry International Media Programme, organised by the Directorate of Communications, continues in Ankara and İstanbul.
33 defence editors and reporters from 23 countries are participating in the programme.
The programme aims to share the vision of the Turkish defence industry's past, present, and future with the international public.
On the first day of the programme, journalists visited ASELSAN, FNSS, and TAI in Ankara and met with senior officials.
Ahmet Akyol, General Manager of ASELSAN, briefed journalists on the activities carried out in the defence industry.
Akyol, who provided information about the Steel Dome defence system announced to the public at a ceremony by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, stated, "The Steel Dome system developed for the defence of our entire airspace signifies not just a product or a group of platforms, but also an understanding."
Afterwards, the journalists visited FNSS, Türkiye's first private defence industry company, where they toured the production facilities and watched the test drives of armoured vehicles.
FNSS General Manager Kadir Nail Kurt spoke to members of the press about the company’s position in global competition, export data, and international collaborations.
International press members who also visited TAI received information about the air vehicles that have been designed, produced, and delivered with national resources.
After the presentation about the company's activities, journalists were provided with an opportunity to see TAI's satellite test centre, UAV hangar, helicopter production facility, and the National Combat Aircraft KAAN.
On the second day of the programme, a panel titled "From Roots to Horizons: The Story of Türkiye's Rising Defence Industry" has been organised by our Directorate.
Following the panel, during which Haluk Görgün, Secretary of the Turkish Defence Industries, delivered the opening speech, international press members visited ROKETSAN. They will attend the "TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland" event to be held in İstanbul tomorrow.
These events aim to convey to the international community the mission of the Turkish defence industry to contribute to global peace with domestic and national technologies in line with the Century of Türkiye vision.
