The Presidency’s Directorate of Communications organised the “Hacı Bektaş Veli Commemoration Events International Media Programme” in the Hacıbektaş district of Nevşehir.
The programme brought together 20 members of the press from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Serbia and Greece, offering international media representatives an opportunity to gain first-hand insight into Bektashism, an important element of the shared cultural and faith heritage that took shape in Anatolia and, over time, spread to different regions, particularly the Balkans.
On the first day of the two-day programme, international media representatives attended the Hacı Bektaş Veli Commemoration Events held in the Hacıbektaş district of Nevşehir. As part of the programme, the journalists had the opportunity to hear remarks by Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Head of the Presidency of Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Cemevis Esma Ersin, and Governor of Nevşehir Hüseyin Kök.
On the second day, the Presidency of Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Cemevis held a press meeting for international media representatives.
During the meeting, the Presidency of Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Cemevis briefed participants on Alevi-Bektashi culture, the Bektashi tradition and its activities, and answered questions from members of the press.
The programme concluded with a visit to the Hacı Bektaş Veli Complex and Museum following the press meeting.
Throughout the programme, international media representatives had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into Hacı Bektaş Veli’s thought and the historical and contemporary manifestations of the shared cultural heritage extending from Anatolia to the Balkans.
