Special media programme for July 15

The International Media Coordination Office of the Directorate of Communications is organising a comprehensive media programme in Ankara and İstanbul from July 14 to 18, on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.

A total of 200 journalists are participating in the programme, including 81 journalists from Türkiye's 81 provinces and 119 foreign press members invited from 41 countries. The program emphasises Türkiye's collective will against the coup attempt and commemorates the memory of the martyrs.

The programme aims at conveying all aspects of the fight against FETO before and after July 15 to international media representatives, illustrating not only an attempted coup but also how the people's will to take ownership of their future was demonstrated to the world public.

In this scope, as part of the Ankara leg of the programme, journalists visited the July 15 Democracy Museum at the Presidential Complex today.

During the visit, Museum Director Ali Haydar Atalar provided comprehensive information regarding the coup attempt by FETO. Journalists then attended a commemoration ceremony held at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, where they listened to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's address and subsequently toured the sections of the Assembly that were damaged during the July 15 coup attempt.

Journalists will also participate in the "July 15 Memory, Justice, and the Future" panel to be organised by the Presidency's Directorate of Communications tomorrow.

During the İstanbul part of the programme, participants will visit the Memory: July 15 Museum and the İstanbul Governor's Office, and various informational meetings will be held.

In addition to Türkiye's 81 provinces, members of the media from Hungary, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States, Serbia, South Korea, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Senegal, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Cameroon, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, North Macedonia, Greece, Kazakhstan, France, Switzerland, Germany, Uganda, Kenya, Georgia, Bulgaria, Austria, Burundi, Gambia, Ghana, Tanzania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, Uzbekistan, Morocco, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Mauritania, Tunisia, Lebanon, Kuwait, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus are participating in the programme.
