The Directorate of Communications has published President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's opening speech at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) as a book in Turkish, English, and Arabic.
The ADF, which has critical importance in terms of peace diplomacy and constitutes one of Türkiye's global brand assets, brought together more than 20 heads of state and government, nearly 15 deputy heads of state and government, over 50 ministers —including more than 40 foreign ministers)— and more than 460 high-level officials, including 75 representatives of international organisations, from over 150 countries this year. Many other guests, including academics and students, also attended the event.
In his speech at the opening of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum, held under the theme ‘Mapping Tomorrow, Managing Uncertainties’, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasised that the current international system is in the midst of a moral and existential crisis.
Describing the forum not merely as a platform for diplomatic engagement but as a 'platform of wisdom' that serves as a common forum for global reason and conscience, President Erdoğan cited the genocide taking place in Gaza as the clearest indication of the structural failure and crisis of legitimacy within the current order. President Erdoğan noted that the global system upholds only the 'law of the powerful' and stated that neither resolving the systemic crisis nor building a fairer world is possible without closing the representational gap encapsulated by the slogan 'The world is bigger than five.'
President Erdoğan, who also extensively addressed regional crises and potential solutions, expressed his satisfaction with the 15-day ceasefire secured through the efforts of Prime Minister Sharif of Pakistan and emphasised the importance of constructive dialogue and diplomacy for lasting peace. Declaring Türkiye's readiness to assume a facilitating role in many regions, such as Ukraine, Syria and the Balkans, under its 'Key to Peace' mission, and its openness to cooperation with its neighbours, President Erdoğan highlighted strategic projects such as the Development Road and the Balkans Peace Platform.
In his speech, President Erdoğan reiterated that Türkiye is an integral part of Europe and remains committed to the goal of full membership, whilst reaffirming his determination to strengthen the ground of global solidarity through major events such as the NATO Heads of State and Government Summit to be held in Ankara in July and COP31, which will take place in Antalya in November.
