Türkiye ratified the "Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management", submitting its own declarations. The international convention, ratified by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was published in the Official Gazette. The Convention aims to achieve and maintain a high level of safety worldwide in managing spent fuel and radioactive waste through national measures and strengthened international cooperation, including, where appropriate, safety-related technical cooperation.
