The 31st session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP31) will be held from 9 to 20 November 2026 at the Antalya COP31 Area in Antalya, Türkiye.
Press accreditation will be required for media representatives wishing to attend, cover and report on COP31, hosted by Türkiye.
1. Press Accreditation
Press accreditation for media representatives covering COP31 will be administered by the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
Media accreditation is reserved for media professionals working in print, photography, radio, television, film, news agencies and online media who represent a bona fide media organisation formally registered as a media organisation in a country recognised by the United Nations General Assembly.
Under the new media accreditation model introduced by the UNFCCC for COP31, each media organisation is required to designate one Media Focal Point.
Media accreditation applications for COP31 must be completed no later than 16 October 2026.
The accreditation process consists of two stages:
Media Personnel:
All media personnel assigned to cover COP31 must first submit an individual application through the UNFCCC Online Registration System (ORS).

Media Focal Points:
Each media organisation must designate one Media Focal Point, who is required to submit an application on behalf of the organisation through the Indico UN platform.

The Media Focal Point should submit the Indico application only after all media personnel assigned by the organisation have completed their individual applications through ORS.
2. Scope of Press Accreditation
All media representatives wishing to cover COP31 must be accredited specifically for the conference. Accreditation granted for previous UNFCCC conferences or events does not apply to COP31.
There is no fee associated with the accreditation and registration process. Submission of an application does not, however, guarantee accreditation. The UNFCCC Secretariat may take measures to manage the number of accredited media attending the conference, including for safety, security and capacity reasons.
