The Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye, Cevdet Yılmaz, addressed the STRATCOM Summit:
“Today, the international system’s capacity to produce justice and ensure stability has been significantly eroded. This period of growing uncertainty has also reached a level that severely impacts the global economy.
As the rhetoric of a rules-based system is replaced by power politics, trust, legitimacy, and narratives are simultaneously being questioned. The notion that ‘might makes right’ weakens international law while also leading to crises of legitimacy in domestic politics and undermining democratic processes.
The ongoing humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, escalating regional tensions, and developments centred on Iran reveal how the current structure of the international system struggles to respond to these crises.
Crises erupting one after another in healthcare, security, economy, climate, and migration are no longer exceptional but have become a permanent characteristic of the political agenda. Every new development deepens existing vulnerabilities and generates new areas of risk.
The most pressing issue at present is the Israel–U.S.–Iran war, which began with Israel’s provocation. This war has very serious implications for both regional and global stability.”
