President Erdoğan: "We will always advocate the values expressed in our National Anthem, which is the symbol of the spirit of the National Struggle, and we will work tirelessly to instil these values in the hearts of future generations."
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a message on the Anniversary of the Adoption of the Turkish National Anthem and the Commemoration of Mehmet Akif Ersoy.
Celebrating the 101st anniversary of the adoption of the National Anthem, which is the reflection of the Turkish Nation's determination for independence and freedom, its resolution to fight for its sacred values, and its strength arising from unity and solidarity, in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, President Erdoğan stated the following in his message:
"Our National Anthem, which is one of the founding texts of the Republic of Türkiye, has engraved our nation's thousands of years of state and civilizational values into minds and hearts. Our National Anthem, penned by the late Mehmet Akif Ersoy to bolster the spiritual side of our freedom struggle, embodies our nation's common values and serves as the cement that holds our brotherhood together. We will always advocate the values expressed in our National Anthem, which is the symbol of the spirit of the National Struggle, and we will work tirelessly to instil these values in the hearts of future generations."
Declaring the previous year the Year of the National Anthem to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the National Anthem's composition and adoption by the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, President Erdoğan stated that they ensured a stronger understanding of the meaning and importance of the National Anthem through special events held throughout the year and added:
"The nation as a whole, we will always maintain our eternal and everlasting fraternity and will continue to unite around our National Anthem. On the 101st anniversary of the adoption of our National Anthem, I commemorate Mehmet Akif Ersoy and all the heroes of our War of Independence with gratitude and respect, and I extend my heartfelt greetings to my citizens."
