President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said at a video conference with Elon Musk yesterday, "We will launch our TURKSAT 5-B satellite into space via SpaceX on December 19." Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, also stated that he was looking forward to doing many projects with Türkiye in the future, that it was an honour to have a meeting with Erdoğan again, and that he would love to visit Türkiye.
Stating that the TURKSAT 5-B satellite would be launched into orbit via SpaceX on December 19, and the TURKSAT 5-A satellite was launched into orbit last January, President Erdoğan continued, "We became one of the rare countries that launched 2 satellites into orbit in the same year. After the launch of our TURKSAT 5-A satellite, we requested our kids to draw a picture of how they imagined TURKSAT 5-A and the space. We received wonderful feedback from them. Over 5 thousand drawings were sent to us. We created TURKSAT 5-B by turning these 5 thousand pictures, each of which is a product of very sound and beautiful dreams and imaginations, into NFT, a digital asset. I would like to share with you this great and insightful NFT. The sparkle in our children's eyes demonstrates where Türkiye will be in the future in terms of satellite technologies, autonomous technologies, artificial intelligence, and the cyber world."
Elon Musk expressed gratitude to President Erdoğan for the NFT gift, saying that he is looking forward to launching the satellite and collaborating with Türkiye on a variety of projects in the future.
Saying that it is an honour to meet with President Erdoğan again, Musk expressed his desire to visit Türkiye.
