Presidency’s Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, shared a post on his NSosyal account regarding the dissolution of the SDF.
In his post, Head of Communications Duran stated:
“From the very outset of the Syrian crisis, Türkiye has maintained a principled and resolute stance against attempts by terrorist organisations and external interventions to fragment the country. At the heart of this approach, pursued under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, lies the conviction that Syria’s future must be shaped solely by the will of the Syrian people.
At the current juncture, the dissolution of the SDF marks an important development in strengthening state authority across the country and bringing different segments of society together on common political ground. It is crucial that the Syrian administration continue to take steps based on inclusivity in order to establish lasting stability.
Türkiye’s vision of a “Terror-free Türkiye” and a “Terror-free Region” is the regional expression of this approach. Establishing a regional order in which ethnic, sectarian and social differences are not turned into instruments of conflict, which is free from the tutelage of terrorist organisations, and in which borders and sovereign rights are safeguarded is of vital importance. For all the peoples of the region, genuine security lies not in division or externally imposed projects but in a shared future, peace and stability.
Türkiye will continue to support Syria in getting back on its feet in the face of malign schemes and scenarios and will continue to stand by the Syrian people, in all their diversity, in their pursuit of peace and prosperity.”
