President Erdoğan: “We as Turkey will continue to be the voice of all the oppressed and disadvantaged in the international arena”

In a post he shared on his Twitter account on the occasion of June 20 World Refugee Day, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated, “We as Turkey will continue to support all the oppressed and disadvantaged people, regardless of their faith, language and origin, and be their voice in the international arena”.

President Erdoğan added, “On behalf of my country and nation, I salute my refugee brothers and sisters, who were forcibly displaced from their lands, on June 20 World Refugee Day", and continued;

“Unless we make sure justice, security and fair sharing prevail; none of us can live in peace and prosperity. In a world where 79.5 million people are forcibly displaced, we cannot be able to find any solution by turning our back on or a blind eye to our problems.

We must act in cooperation, as is the case in all areas, to resolve the refugee issue, and shoulder the responsibility for the prosperity and security of the entire world.

I would like to once again remind that we, as the world’s largest provider of humanitarian aid in proportion to national income, will continue to support all the oppressed and disadvantaged regardless of their ethnic identity, faith, language and origin, and to be their voice in the international arena. On behalf of my country and nation, I salute all my refugee brothers and sisters struggling under difficult conditions.”

Indicating in the shared infographic that the number of refugees was 4 million, it was noted that in the last 7 years, Turkey had continuously housed the largest number of refugees in the world.

Stating that 72 million 393 thousand 212 out-patients had been treated, the infographic also reported that 2 million 488 thousand 456 inpatients had been treated, 569 thousand 956 deliveries had been performed, and 793 thousand 13 refugees had been included in education.

The infographic, which also stated that adjustment classes had been established to facilitate acclimatization to the education system, shared the information that 1 million 539 thousand 785 attendees had been trained in Public Education Centers.
