“Türkiye has achieved a distinguished level in healthcare”

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Samsun City Hospital, President Erdoğan said: “We have established a healthcare system throughout our country where every citizen, regardless of income level or profession, is treated with dignity. Thanks to our investments over the past 24 years, particularly our city hospitals, Türkiye has achieved a distinguished level in the world in healthcare.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan attended the opening ceremony of Samsun City Hospital.

President Erdoğan said: “When we took office in 2002, we said 'health comes first' and placed health at the very top of our priorities, alongside education. We built hospitals and primary care centres across our country. We exponentially increased medical equipment, ambulances, and the number of doctors and nurses. We put an end to scenes where those without money were turned away at the door or held hostage in hospitals. We have established a healthcare system throughout our country where every citizen, regardless of income level or profession, is treated with dignity. Thanks to our investments over the past 24 years, particularly our city hospitals, Türkiye has achieved a distinguished level in the world in healthcare. In the past, our citizens used to travel abroad to receive healthcare services; today, this picture has completely reversed. Now, hundreds of thousands of foreign patients seek treatment in Türkiye every year. The opening of our city hospitals has made a significant contribution to this. As of today, we have completed 27 city hospitals.
