President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will pay a visit to the U.S. on September 21-25, 2019 to attend the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly to be held in New York.
Prior to the high level meetings of the UN General Assembly, President Erdoğan will attend the UN Climate Action Summit 2019, which will be hosted by UN Secretary-General António Guterres on September 23, 2019.
On September 24, 2019, the first day of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, whose theme will be “Galvanizing Multilateral Efforts for Poverty Eradication, Quality Education, Climate Action and Inclusion”, President Erdoğan will address the General Assembly, and meet with UN Secretary-General Guterres.
President Erdoğan will also make a speech during the Leaders Dialogue 1 – Megatrends Impacting the Achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, to be held as part of the Sustainable Developments Goal Summit.
President Erdoğan is expected to host a high-level side event with Prime Minister Imran Khan of Pakistan with the theme of “Tackling Hate Speech”.
The Turkey-Malaysia-Pakistan Trilateral Meeting will also be held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
During his stay in New York, President Erdoğan is expected to hold bilateral meetings with many heads of state and government.
As part of his visit, President Erdoğan will likely to meet with representatives of Turkish, Muslim and Jewish communities in the U.S., inaugurate the Ara Güler Exhibition, and participate in the Gala Dinner of the 10th Turkey Investment Conference, to be held by the Turkey-U.S. Business Council.
