President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will address the United Nations (UN) General Assembly for the 15th time on Tuesday, September 23.
In his 14th address to the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly on September 24 last year, President Erdoğan called on the international community to stand against Israel's attacks and said, "I also invite other states that have not yet done so to recognize the State of Palestine as soon as possible and take their place on the right side of history at this very critical period. Creation of an independent, sovereign, and geographically contiguous Palestinian State on the basis of the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, can no longer be delayed. Just as Hitler was stopped by the alliance of humanity 70 years ago, Netanyahu and his murder network must be stopped by the alliance of humanity."
The foreign press extensively covered President Erdoğan's speech at the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly, where he urged the international community to take action on Gaza.
The UN General Assembly, which brings world leaders together every year in New York, USA, will begin this year's session, known as the high-level week, on September 23, with leaders' speeches. The General Assembly is expected to have high-level representation from 195 countries.
President Erdoğan, in his 15th address to the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly, will focus on Israel's genocide in Gaza, the recognition of Palestine as a state, and international actions to be taken against Israel.
President Erdoğan, who will also hold meetings with heads of state and government on the sidelines of the summit, will deliver a speech at the Palestine Conference on September 22 and at the UN Climate Summit on September 24.
