President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will begin diplomatic contacts with a visit to Russia in September, followed by the Heads of State and Government Summit of the Group of 20 (G20) and the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.
President Erdoğan's first stop in September will be Russia. On September 4, President Erdoğan will meet with President Vladimir Putin of Russia in Sochi.
The grain corridor: the main item on the agenda for the meeting in Sochi
The main item on the agenda for President Erdoğan and Putin's meeting will be the Black Sea Grain Corridor Agreement, from which Russia withdrew on July 17. The two leaders will exchange views on possible steps to restore the agreement.
The latest developments in the Russia-Ukraine War will also be discussed during the meeting, as well as the relations between the two countries, especially in the fields of energy, trade, economy, and tourism.
Intensive bilateral meetings to take place at the G-20 and UN summits
Furthermore, President Erdoğan will represent Türkiye at two international summits in September.
President Erdoğan will travel to New Delhi, the capital of India, on September 9-10 to attend the Heads of State and Government Summit of the Group of 20 (G20). President Erdoğan is also set to deliver messages on steps to improve global trade, international cooperation in the fight against terrorism and climate change at the summit, which will be held under the theme "One Earth, One Family, One Future".
President Erdoğan will also attend the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York, US, on September 17–21.
President Erdoğan, who will address the UN General Assembly as part of his US visit, is expected to elaborate on issues such as the Russia-Ukraine War, recent developments in Syria, Palestine, and the TRNC, the fight against terrorism, the refugee crisis, and the fight against climate change.
President Erdoğan will also hold bilateral talks with many heads of state and government on the sidelines of the Heads of State and Government Summit of the Group of 20 (G20) and the UN General Assembly.
