President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan took part in a family photo shoot during the G20 Leaders' Summit in Rome, Italy, which brought together the leaders of the world's 20 major economies and representatives from international organizations.
Taking place at the Nuvola Convention Centre in Rome, the summit was opened by host Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, who greeted each of his guests, including President Erdoğan, one by one as they entered.
The host Prime Minister met with President Erdoğan and posed for a souvenir photo. Prior to the family photo shoot, President Erdoğan spoke with the US President Joe Biden.
A family photo was taken following the official welcoming ceremony.
The leaders also posed for photos with healthcare professionals during the summit, which was convened face-to-face for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, and applauded them for their tireless efforts.
Theme of the Summit’s opening session: “Global economy and global health”
The leaders then moved on to the first working session, titled "Global economy and global health."
The summit will address the economic recovery during the pandemic, the vaccination campaign, and substantial advancements in healthcare during the pandemic.
Director of Communications Altun shares post on the occasion of G20 Leaders’ Summit
President Erdoğan spent some time speaking with leaders who were in attendance at the Summit.
Presidency’s Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun shared photos on his social media account from the G20 Leaders' Summit at the Nuvolo Convention Centre in Rome, Italy's capital.
"Our President's two-day, busy G-20 schedule in Rome has begun. Hopefully, it will be auspicious for our country," Altun wrote in his post, which included photos of President Erdoğan talking with the US President Joe Biden, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Prime Minister Boris Johnson of the United Kingdom, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
