The Presidency's Directorate of Communications building has been recognised as the "Best Sustainability Project" under the "Sustainable Building Awards" organised by BUILD Magazine, a UK-based international publication renowned for its expertise in construction, architecture, engineering, and sustainability.

In his remarks, the Presidency’s Head of Communications, Fahrettin Altun, emphasised that sustainability is not only about the present but also entails the responsibility of shaping the future.
Highlighting their continued dedication to enhancing environmental awareness, fostering a culture of nature conservation, and ensuring a more habitable world for future generations, Altun stated:
“It is a great honour and source of pride for us that our Directorate’s building has been awarded the ‘Best Sustainability Project’ as part of BUILD Magazine’s Sustainable Building Awards. This award clearly demonstrates that our commitment to zero waste, environmental preservation and nature conservation is recognised globally.
Türkiye continues to do its part—and even more—not only within its borders but also in its region to promote more sustainable practices. We will continue our efforts in the field of environmental sustainability, especially through the Zero Waste Project led by First Lady Emine Erdoğan, and we will remain committed to fulfilling our responsibility towards humanity.
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to all my co-workers, everyone who contributed to this success, and the representatives of BUILD Magazine for recognising our projects with this esteemed award.”

Altun also pointed out that the Directorate continues its efforts to raise awareness regarding the conservation of natural resources, improve recycling processes, and foster environmental consciousness throughout all segments of society. “We will continue developing exemplary national and international projects bearing in mind our mission to leave a more liveable world for future generations,” he said.
Additionally, Altun emphasised that the Directorate of Communications has been designed as a staff-friendly building featuring social spaces such as work and rest areas, nursery, and sports facilities. He also noted that last year, the Directorate inaugurated the Communications Museum, which showcases Türkiye’s 100-year history of communications, the evolution of media and communication over time, and the historical transformation of communication technologies.
Furthermore, Altun highlighted the establishment of the Specialised Library for Communication, which serves journalists, employees, students, and academics, adding that the library houses 12,443 written resources, including 9,658 books and 2,785 printed journals.
