Journalism Training Programme commences

The three-day "Journalism Training Programme" for 15 Algerian journalists has commenced at AAtölye, organisedin collaboration with the Presidency's Directorate of Communications and Anadolu Agency (AA).

AA Academy Director Zeynep Bayramoğlu Öztürk noted that AA keeps proceeding on its way with the motto of continuous innovation and is one of Türkiye's major brands in the international arena.

Öztürk stated that AA operates in 144 countries with 39 offices and broadcasting centres, while noting that with subscribers in 76 countries, AA broadcasts in 13 languages and produced a total of 2.1 million pieces of content in 2023 alone.

Öztürk indicated that the average number of news items published by AA each day is 1,368, and, referring to AA's "War Journalism" training, she underscored that the training aims to prepare operational correspondents capable of working in times of war, disaster and states of emergency.

Öztürk reminded that in 2023, 1,413 in-house and 170 external journalists received training on various topics and said that the "War Journalism" trainings have been organisedsince 2012 in cooperation with the AA Academy, Police Academy, AFAD and the Turkish Armed Forces, and a total of 533 individuals participated in the 24 trainings held so far, with 62 hours of this 12-day, 108-hour training being practical.

Öztürk stated that the Academy has trained 27 Algerian journalists in various domains since 2018.

The Journalism Training Programme will provide 15 Algerianjournalists with three days of training on a variety of themes.

After receiving training from professionals in their industries, participants will receive certificates in Data Visualisation, Fact-Checking Journalism, Visual Competence, Social Media, Cyber Security, Crisis Management, and Strategic Communication.

The training will be in Turkish with simultaneous interpretinginto French.
