The Presidency’s Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, commemorated Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, who was martyred while supporting the Palestinian resistance in the occupied West Bank, through a post on his social media account.
In his post, Head of Communications Duran stated:
“One year ago, Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, a young advocate for justice and human rights, was martyred by an Israeli sniper.
The loss of Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, who travelled to the occupied West Bank to support the Palestinian resistance, inflicted a deep wound not only on her family and us but also on the collective conscience of humanity.
Ayşenur, our sister, was there to convey to the world the oppression endured by the Palestinian people. With her courage, voice, and stance, she demonstrated to all what it means to be a defender of human rights. Her life has become a symbol of the struggle for human dignity and for an end to genocide.
Today, on the first anniversary of her passing, we commemorate Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi with mercy and respect. Her dream was a free, fair, equal, and peaceful world. Her legacy will continue to give strength and courage to conscientious people in the pursuit of justice for Gaza and Palestine.
The genocidal Israel, already condemned in the conscience of humanity, will face accountability for its crimes against humanity and war crimes. Justice will inevitably prevail, and accountability will be ensured for every crime committed. Consciences that refuse to remain silent in the face of oppression will continue to stand with the oppressed and the innocent.”
