Cooperation between Türkiye and Hungary in Combating Disinformation

During the ceremony held at Dolmabahçe Palace on the occasion of the 7th Meeting of the Türkiye–Hungary High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), which took place during the official visit of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán of Hungary and his delegation, Presidency's Head of Communications, Prof Burhanettin Duran, and the Chief National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of Hungary, Marcell Biró, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Combating Disinformation between the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and the Chief National Security Advisor's Office of the Prime Minister of Hungary.

The ''Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Combating Disinformation'', signed between the Presidency's Directorate of Communications and the Chief National Security Adviser's Office of the Prime Minister of Hungary, aims to further strengthen the strong ties between Türkiye and Hungary and enhance close cooperation in combating disinformation. 

Within the framework of the agreement, the two institutions will take the necessary steps to promote joint efforts in combating disinformation.

In accordance with the agreement, the parties will encourage the exchange of information and expertise, the sharing of best practices, the support of mutually beneficial initiatives and projects, and the organisation of meetings, seminars, workshops, training, and conferences. In addition, the parties will take initiatives to increase mutual visits among officials and experts and to conduct joint efforts on mechanisms aimed at combating disinformation and providing the public with accurate information.

In line with the ''Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Combating Disinformation'' signed between the two institutions on the occasion of this visit, the parties will continue to engage in joint efforts to effectively implement the cooperation on the basis of reciprocity and mutual benefit and in line with the provisions of the MoU as well as the laws, regulations, and national policies in force in their respective countries. 

The Memorandum of Understanding, signed at the Dolmabahçe Palace and entering into effect as of today, will remain in force for three years.
