The Presidency's Communication Centre (CİMER) serves as a primary point of contact for Turkish citizens seeking solutions to issues encountered both domestically and abroad.
Upon citizens' requests, the representatives of the relevant ministries that operate globally, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, took immediate action.
Breaking down barriers in state-citizen communication, CİMER processes these applications in coordination with the relevant institutions and organisations to deliver effective public services.
A woman contacted CİMER to request urgent assistance, stating that she was being threatened and held against her will by her husband on the Island of Chios in Greece. Following diplomatic interventions by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Consulate General in Rhodes, the citizen's husband was detained by the Greek police. The formal process has subsequently begun to arrange the repatriation of the woman and her children. It was reported that the matter is being closely monitored.
Another citizen contacted CİMER to request urgent support for their nephew, who had been hospitalised with a severe infection while on holiday in Sicily, Italy. Swift contact was then established through the relevant units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Afterwards, detailed information regarding the health condition of the Turkish citizen's three-year-old child, who holds Polish citizenship, was obtained from an on-call doctor at the hospital and conveyed to the relatives. Additionally, an official letter was sent to the hospital to request that the Turkish citizen be provided with timely and comprehensive information.
After receiving an application for a Turkish citizen who went missing and could not be contacted in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, the Abidjan Embassy reported the incident to local authorities, and search efforts were launched. It was reported that the relevant persons' statements had been obtained and that the case was being closely monitored.
Urgent assistance for Turkish truck drivers
A Turkish citizen also applied to CİMER, claiming that her grandson had been assaulted by his wife and mother-in-law in Lelystad, the Netherlands, that contact with him had been lost, and that she was concerned for his safety. The competent units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs acted immediately and informed the relevant police unit in accordance with Dutch procedures. During the contacts made, it was learned that the citizen's general condition was good, which was communicated to the family. They were also informed that the person could contact the Consulate General if he wished.
The Consulate of the Amman Embassy also provided immediate assistance to Turkish truck drivers who stated that they had been unable to obtain a Saudi Arabia visa for days due to a malfunctioning system at the Jordanian Jaber Border Gate, that their fuel and food had run out, and that their refrigerated cargo was at risk of spoiling.
Citizens were urged to submit their visa applications before travelling, and, as a precaution, they were given the contact information for an authorised visa intermediary company in Jordan, provided by the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Amman.
After contacting the company official to whom the truck drivers were affiliated, it was communicated that the matter was nearing settlement, that some vehicles had been allowed to pass, and that the others would be allowed to pass shortly.
