Altun gives information about President Erdoğan’s G20 program and his visit to China

Presidency’s Director of Communications Prof. Fahrettin Altun shared tweets in English regarding the visits of President Erdoğan and said: “Turkey continues to strengthen its political, economic, and cultural relations with all nations to pursue its national interests and utilize strategic platforms for global peace.”

President Erdoğan will attend the 14th G20 Leaders Summit in Osaka to be hosted by Japan on June 28-29.

Japan carries out the term-presidency of the G20, which was established to provide an informal exchange of information for the assurance and encouragement of global economic stability. At the G20 Summit, the issues such as growth, infrastructure, international financial architecture, financial regulations, fighting against corruption, development, employment, trade and investment, resource efficiency, marine plastic pollution, digital economy, health, agriculture, energy and climate change will be discussed.

President Erdoğan is expected to meet with G20 leaders during the sessions and hold bilateral meetings with some participating heads of state and government and representatives of international organizations.

Following the G20 Summit and other programs in Japan, President Erdoğan will pay an official visit to the People's Republic of China on July 2.

During the visits to Japan and the People's Republic of China, it is planned to hold discussions concerning the issues on the regional and international agenda and to further develop bilateral relations.

Prof. Fahrettin Altun stated that at the G20 summit in Japan, which will bring together the leaders of the world’s largest economies, President Erdoğan will stress the importance of free trade, sustainable development and the global economy’s stability against the backdrop of trade wars.

Prof. Altun noted: “In addition to attending the G20 summit, the President will discuss bilateral relations and regional issues at his meetings with fellow leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Following the G20 summit, the President will visit Beijing, where he and Chinese President Xi Jinping will exchange views on a range of issues to further strengthen our nation’s relations with China.”
