President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The developments in Libya and regional issues were discussed during the conversation between Erdoğan and Merkel.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Chairman of the Presidential Council of Libya’s Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al Sarraj. The meeting, which was held at Dolmabahçe Presidential Office and closed to the press, lasted for nearly 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte of Italy will pay a working visit to Turkey on January 13, 2020 at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. All aspects of the bilateral relations between Turkey and Italy will be reviewed and possible steps for the further strengthening of cooperation between the two countries will be discussed during the visit, which will be the first visit Prime Minister Conte pays to Turkey since coming into office. President Erdoğan issued a message of condolence for Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said of Oman. In his post for the deceased Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said of Oman from his Arabic Twitter account, President Erdoğan said, “I wish Allah's mercy on Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said of Oman, who was a key figure for Oman’s welfare and development with his efforts as well as for the politics in our region.” Erdoğan also offered his condolences to the people of Oman.

President Charles Michel of the European Council will pay a working visit to Turkey on January 11, 2020.
