A panel titled "July 15 Through the Eyes of Witnesses: A Night to Remember" was organised by the Directorate of Communications.
The final panel, "July 15 Through the Eyes of Witnesses: A Night to Remember," was moderated by Hüseyin Arslan, Research Assistant from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University.
During the panel, July 15 veterans Safiye Başpınar Bayat, Üzeyir Civan, and witness Taha Koyuncu shared their experiences that night.
July 15 Veteran Safiye Başpınar Bayat said, "July 15 is a symbol of a struggle, a stance and a defence. As a nation, we took a decisive stance against the oppression, regime impositions, and insidious infiltrations that tried to take over our country."
15 July veteran Üzeyir Civan said, "It wasn't just the Turkish people on the streets. We have martyred brothers from Algeria as well as Syrian and Iranian veterans. That night, people across Africa and the entire Islamic world were praying for us.
July 15 witness Taha Koyuncu, in his speech, said, “We were not meant to become martyrs or veterans, we were only meant to fulfil this responsibility. May Allah protect us from ever enduring such pain again, and may He not grant anyone the courage to commit such a treacherous attempt. Altogether, we have shown that they will not succeed.”
