The third International Project Meeting of the Erasmus+ Programme-supported project titled “Disaster Journalism: Preventing the News from Turning into a Disaster” was held on 11–12 June 2025 at the Pontevedra Campus of the University of Vigo in Spain.
The meeting addressed key topics, including project dissemination strategies, evaluation of the enhanced curriculum, and development of digital content.
In addition to the Directorate of Communications of the Republic of Türkiye, project stakeholders include the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK), Konya Metropolitan Municipality, Selçuk University (Türkiye), the University of Primorska (Slovenia), Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Ukraine), and the University of Vigo (Spain). Representatives from these institutions shared updates on their ongoing work within the scope of the project.
In its final phase, the project aims not only to contribute to academic curricula in the field of disaster journalism but also to produce guidelines for journalists working in the field. By converting the training materials developed under the project into multilingual digital formats, the initiative also seeks to ensure that its outputs are accessible and usable at a global level.
