“Stratcom Public Forum” panel held in Seoul

The Stratcom Public Forum, organised by the Directorate of Communications in various countries, was held under the theme "A Fairer World Is Possible."

The event focused on the problems of global governance, the crises of the international system, and the role of international institutions and organisations in establishing a sustainable and fair system.

At the 16th round of the panel series held in Seoul, the event commenced with the screening of the "Stratcom Public Forum" themed video, followed by the presentation of a message from the Presidency's Head of Communications, Professor Fahrettin Altun, which was sent specifically for the panel.

First Undersecretary of Türkiye's Embassy in Seoul, Sezai Tolga Şimşir; President of the United Nations Association of the Republic of Korea Prof Kwaak Young-hoon; Ambassador Kim Wonsoo, who is the former UN Under-Secretary-General and former High Representative for Disarmament Affairs; and Park Jaehyuk from the United Nations Students Association of ROK, representing the Korean youth generation, delivered the opening speeches, while the Social Affairs Counsellor at the Embassy of Türkiye in Seoul, Dr. Süleyman Elik, moderated the event. The panel featured Professor Oh Chong Jin from Hankuk University, Professor Kang Hyokyung from Korea National Defence University and Kaan Kutlu Ataç, PhD, from Mersin University as speakers. 

During the opening speech and session of the panel, the participants underlined that the current international system, which currently serves only the interests of certain actors, must change and must be reformed to resolve the global and regional crises in a fair manner. The efforts Türkiye has displayed to make the international institutions more participatory and responsive, as well as its vision for a fairer system, were highlighted. 

A photo exhibition titled "Century of Türkiye" was organised as part of the Stratcom Public Forum panel series, which focused on the theme "A Fairer World Is Possible." Additionally, a documentary was screened, chronicling the professional life of painter Devrim Erbil, which spanned over 60 years. Numerous guests attended the screening.
