Press Announcement on the 29 October Republic Day Celebrations

The Directorate of Communications will conduct accreditation procedures for members of the press wishing to cover the 29 October Republic Day celebrations.

Accreditation

Members of the press wishing to cover the events must complete their accreditation applications by 12.00 noon on Monday, 26 October 2026, via http://akreditasyon.iletisim.gov.tr, uploading the required documents to the system. Personnel assigned to live broadcast vehicles must also register in the system and obtain accreditation in the same manner as members of the press.

a) Members of the Domestic Press

Journalists who do not hold a press card must upload a letter of assignment issued by their media organisation (on official letterhead, signed by an authorised person and bearing the organisation's stamp).

Journalists holding a press card linked to their employment are not required to submit any documents. (Note: Holders of Permanent Press Cards and Freelance Press Cards must indicate the media organisation on whose behalf they will cover the events in the "Remarks" field on the application page and upload a letter of assignment from that organisation.)

b) International Press Members Resident in Türkiye

International press members resident in Türkiye are not required to upload any documents. They must log in to the system using the email address and password provided in their permanent accreditation applications and complete their applications.

Applications submitted using an email address other than the one registered for permanent accreditation will not be taken into consideration. Members of the press who cannot remember their registered email address may contact daimiakreditasyon@iletisim.gov.tr for assistance.

Accreditation Procedure

Visit http://akreditasyon.iletisim.gov.tr. If you are accessing the system for the first time, click the "Register" button and create an account using your email address and a password of your choice. Once registered, click the activation link sent to your email address to complete the registration process. Then log in to the system using your email address and password. Enter your personal details on the page that appears and upload your photograph. (The information provided must match the details on your national identity card if you are a domestic journalist, or your passport if you are an international journalist.) Under "Select Your Application", select "29 October Republic Day Celebrations".

For domestic and international journalists holding press cards, details of their media organisation, position and contact information will be automatically entered into the system. Applicants must click the "Submit" button in the bottom right-hand corner of the page to complete their applications. Domestic and international journalists who do not hold press cards must enter the required information, upload the documents specified above and click the "Submit" button in the bottom right-hand corner of the page to complete their applications. Upon successful submission, applicants will receive an email confirming that "Your application has been registered in the system". (If you do not receive this email, please submit your application again.) Applicants whose accreditation applications are approved will receive an email stating that "Your application has been approved". Please retain the email address and password used for your application, as you will need them for future accreditation applications.

Live Broadcast / Uplink Vehicles

Accreditation is also required for live broadcast vehicles entering the ceremony grounds. Only one representative from each media organisation needs to complete the vehicle accreditation details. If more than one live broadcast vehicle from your organisation will enter the ceremony grounds, you may register all vehicles assigned to cover the ceremonies by clicking the "Add Vehicle" button in the vehicle accreditation section of your personal application page. Vehicle accreditation is available exclusively for live broadcast vehicles. Applications for private vehicles will not be accepted.

Uplink and technical support vehicles without accreditation passes will not be permitted to enter the ceremony grounds. Members of the press without accreditation will not be entitled to use the facilities and services provided for accredited media or participate in press arrangements.

NOTE: To avoid disrupting the procession, members of the press covering the ceremonies must remain within the designated media areas when taking photographs or recording footage.
