46 images depicting the nation's resistance to the coup attempt and its struggle in defence of democracy were on display at the "Memory and Remembrance: 15 July Photo Exhibition", which opened at Antalya Airport.
At the exhibition's opening, which was organised in collaboration with the Directorate of Communications and the 15 July Association, Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin stated that the younger generation should be informed about what transpired on 15 July.
Stating that, on 15 July, the target was the future, independence, and will of the Turkish people, Şahin added, "We were confronted with an operation built on this, an attempt at civil war. But the heroism and struggle of our nation scrapped all conspiracies. History will not repeat itself if we do not forget or allow it to be forgotten. We must work to accomplish this. This is precisely the main goal we hope to achieve with this exhibition at one of the world's largest airports, where we welcome 40 million visitors each year."
Fatih Pekşen, Head of the Strategy Development Department of the Directorate of Communications, said that the exhibition was opened for simultaneous viewing at six airports today.
Pekşen stated that the goal of this exhibition is to remind people of the epic that the nation wrote on the night of 15 July by upholding democracy, independence, and national will, as well as to pass on the nation's unparalleled sacrifice to future generations and to bring these photographs together with domestic and foreign visitors to Türkiye.
Erol Bulut, Vice President of the 15 July Association, noted that they launched this project to ensure that the nation's glorious resistance to the treacherous coup attempt on 15 July is not forgotten.
Following the speeches, the exhibition was opened with the participation of protocol members. The exhibition featured 46 photographs that showed the nation's resistance to the coup attempt and its struggle to uphold democracy.
