“Media and Communication among Youth Project” workshop organised in Antalya

The "Media and Communication among Youth Project" workshop, organised by the Trabzon Regional Directorate of the Directorate of Communications in Antalya as part of the Erasmus+ programme, has kicked off.

Following Trabzon and İzmir, the workshop held in Antalya brought together 16 young professional journalists and university students.

As part of the project, participants visited the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) Antalya Regional Directorate Radio.

Trabzon Regional Director of the Directorate of Communications, Murat Güler, stated that the project aims to raise young people's awareness of the new media and disinformation.

Güler noted that they facilitated theoretical and practical training sessions on media literacy and communication skills in this context and added:

"Our initiative is an Erasmus project, funded by the European Union. Here, we instruct our youth in media literacy and how to use social media more effectively. In particular, there is this concept of combating disinformation, which our President has also emphasised and against which we have declared war. One of the project's primary objectives is to increase young people's awareness of combating disinformation. Our main goal is to help young people understand that they should not believe everything they see on social media."

The workshop will end on April 5.
