As part of the commemorative events organised to mark the 10th anniversary of the treacherous coup attempt of 15 July 2016, 3D mapping shows were held at two of İstanbul’s landmark structures, the Galata Tower and the Maiden’s Tower. Prepared under the theme “Will of the Nation, Victory of Democracy,” the shows portrayed through digital art the historic resistance demonstrated by the Turkish nation on the night of 15 July and the victory of democracy it achieved.
The shows were held in two sessions, at 21:30 and 22:00. Three-dimensional animations specially designed for the architectural fabric of the Galata Tower and the Maiden’s Tower were integrated with audio recordings, music, and lighting effects. The shows created a visual memory against İstanbul’s historic skyline.
