The Presidency's Directorate of Communications organised a panel titled "From Roots to Horizons: The Story of Türkiye's Rising Defence Industry," moderated by Mete Çubukçu.
Speaking at the panel, TAI CEO Mehmet Demiroğlu said, "We are discussing KAAN, HÜRJET, and our other vehicles not only with those lagging behind in technology, but also with European countries considered to be ahead of us."
ROKETSAN CEO Murat İkinci emphasised that there was a strong ecosystem in Türkiye, and said, "There is a very robust defence industry ecosystem in Türkiye. Europe does not have the supply chain that Türkiye has. The Turkish defence industry is making remarkable investments in R&D. We've written a beautiful success story, but it's far from over, and we are headed for even greater heights."
ASELSAN CEO Ahmet Akyol highlighted projects in the field of air defence, stating, "We have laid the foundation for Europe's largest air defence system. We have developed the Çelik Kubbe (Steel Dome), which is held up as an example around the world. We have become a country that sets the trend, not one that follows it, a country that defines the concept globally."
STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz stated that the defence industry is not limited to its economic aspects and said, "The defence industry is much more than just a commercial money-making venture. It is our dreams, our pride, and the excitement of our youth."
