African House-led delegation visits Directorate of Communications

On 30 January 2026, a 42-member delegation coordinated by the African House paid a visit to the Department of Public Diplomacy within the Presidency's Directorate of Communications.

During the visit, the delegation was provided with comprehensive briefings on the efforts carried out in alignment with Türkiye’s public diplomacy vision. Briefings covered Türkiye’s strategic outlook toward the African continent, implemented projects, and multilateral cooperation mechanisms, with a focus on cultural and public diplomacy.

The presentation delivered for the visit provided a comprehensive overview of the public diplomacy efforts aimed at strengthening Türkiye’s historical, cultural, and humanitarian ties with African countries.

Alongside initiatives grounded in cultural interaction and mutual understanding, examples of academic, cultural, and civil society-based cooperation were shared. Public diplomacy’s role in strengthening relations between peoples and creating enduring bonds between countries was also emphasised.

As part of the visit, views were exchanged, and assessments were made on further deepening relations between Türkiye and Africa in the areas of public and cultural diplomacy. In the meetings, where the strategic aspect of public diplomacy was emphasised, it was noted that Türkiye draws its soft power from mutual interaction and formulates new policies by both communicating its perspectives and listening.

The visit concluded with expressions of mutual goodwill and favourable views on future collaborations.
