UAE and Türkiye to create 125 thousand jobs

United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi said that through the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement signed with Türkiye, approximately 100 thousand employment opportunities would be created in the Turkish economy. In Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, the Türkiye-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement Signing Ceremony was held with the participation of Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, and Mehmet Muş, Minister of Trade. Zeyoudi spoke at the press conference held after the signing ceremony, in which President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan participated via video conference.

Noting that the agreement will create approximately 25 thousand employment in the UAE economy and 100 thousand in the Turkish economy, Zeyoudi stated that the agreement would enter into force within 3 to 6 months after the approval of the procedures and will be put into practice within one year. In the next five years, the bilateral trade volume is estimated to rise from its current level of  $19 billion to $40 billion.

According to Emirates News Agency (WAM), the volume of non-oil trade between Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates reached an estimated $13.7 billion in 2021.
