Türkiye’s Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Nadir Alpaslan said Türkiye’s tourism revenue rose from about 30 billion to 65 billion dollars over the past eight years, and that the country climbed to fourth place globally among countries hosting international tourists.
Alpaslan said Türkiye’s tourism sector had maintained growth despite the continued impact of war and instability in surrounding regions, contributing significantly to the economy and employment.
Noting that the Turkish government was working to extend tourism activity beyond the seasonal peak to year-round and expand it from traditionally popular destinations to all 81 provinces across the country, Alpaslan said the aim was to increase Türkiye’s share of the global tourism market.
Alpaslan said all regions of Türkiye have potential for development in areas such as culture, natural landscapes, health and thermal tourism, and congress and exhibition tourism, adding that efforts to turn relevant resources into tourism products would be further encouraged in the future.
