Erdoğan: We have increased the share of renewable energy in our total installed capacity to over 60 per cent.
Speaking at the "Special High-Level Event on Climate Action" held in tandem with the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye said:
"As we ramp up energy efficiency and the share of renewable energy, we also promote low-carbon technologies in industry. As of this year, we have increased the share of renewable energy in our total installed capacity to over 60 per cent."
President Erdoğan addressed the "Special High-Level Event on Climate Action," held in tandem with the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly, and said: "With the policies we will implement in the economy, we aim to achieve a reduction of 466 million tonnes in emissions by 2035 and to lower our total emissions to 643 million tonnes. As we ramp up energy efficiency and the share of renewable energy, we also promote low-carbon technologies in industry. As of this year, we have increased the share of renewable energy in our total installed capacity to over 60 per cent."
Following his meetings at the UN, President Erdoğan proceeded to Washington. Here, he will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump. The meeting will focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, and defence.
