The Presidency of Türkiye has denied claims of a food crisis in the country due to the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement issued by the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications Centre for Countering Disinformation, it was declared, “The claim that ‘due to developments in the Strait of Hormuz, a fertiliser crisis is occurring in Türkiye, putting food supply at risk', as reported by some media outlets, is disinformation.”
Statements from our Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry have made it clear that there is no problem with fertiliser supply in Türkiye, that production processes continue uninterrupted, and that current stocks are sufficient.
It is also emphasised that Türkiye has different supply channels and that supply security in the relevant areas is maintained without any disruption.
The statement emphasised the importance of the public being mindful of posts that distort global developments to create a perception of panic and chaos and of only considering statements from official sources.
