In a post on his NSosyal account, Presidency's Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran, condemned the attacks involving stones and explosive devices targeting civilians in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and underscored the need for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
In his post, Head of Communications Duran said:
"I condemn the attack carried out with stones and explosive devices by a group supporting the EOKA terrorist organisation against civilians in the Yiğitler Bastion area of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
This provocative act against civilians undermines regional peace as well as fundamental principles of international law and humanity.
For the tranquillity of the island, it is critical that the perpetrators be identified and brought to justice as swiftly as possible and that concrete measures be taken to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future. We will closely follow the process in all its aspects.
Under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Türkiye fully supports the security, peace, and protection of the rights of the TRNC.”
