President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan sent a video message to the 21 March Nowruz Day Programme held at the Gaziantep Kamil Ocak Sports Hall.
In his message, President Erdoğan noted that the Nowruz Day event, held for the first time under his auspices in İstanbul last year, is being held in Gaziantep this year, and extended his congratulations on Nowruz Day to all those from across the "land dear to our heart and culture".
President Erdoğan expressed his wish that Nowruz, the harbinger of spring and the symbol of nature's rebirth, bring peace, tranquillity, and abundance to Türkiye, the ancient geography, and all humanity, stating he was pleased to see Nowruz become a symbol of new beginnings not only for Türkiye but also for its neighbours.
President Erdoğan stated:
"From our 81 provinces to every corner of the Turkic world, we gather around the Nowruz fire, united in the same spirit. As a step toward deepening our unity of spirits, we have made Nowruz a day of celebration for all of us. In 2026, we will host the 13th Summit of our Family Council in Türkiye, hopefully building upon the momentum already achieved. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all our friends, brothers and sisters from Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan, from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan, and from Turkmenistan to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Hungary, on the occasion of Nowruz. I also extend my warmest wishes for Nowruz to our brothers and sisters in Syria and Iraq, as well as those in Iran who are currently grappling with the problems caused by war. May this meaningful day serve as a beacon for the end of conflicts in our region. I wish that the spirit of spring heralded by Nowruz will bring hope to our hearts, peace to our societies, and harmony to our world."
