Various countries' leaders, as well as institutions and organisations of these countries, throughout the world, sent messages of congratulations for the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye.
Azerbaijan
President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan congratulated the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, saying, "Our brotherhood and solidarity are an important element of security and stability, the backbone and the basic condition of regional cooperation."
Aliyev noted:
"I am particularly pleased and honoured to express my sincere congratulations and best wishes on the 100th anniversary of the founding of our sister country, the Republic of Türkiye.
On this important day, I respectfully honour the great leader and founder of the Republic of Türkiye, the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who engraved his name in world history with golden letters, who fought until the end for the freedom of his people and his country, his loyal comrades in arms, and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence of their homeland.
The founding of the Republic of Türkiye by Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk as a result of the War of Independence and the struggle for liberty on October 29, 1923, is one of the most important historical events of the 20th century. Brotherly Türkiye, which has overcome all the obstacles and difficulties it has faced with determination and has passed through a large-scale transformation and an unprecedented path of development and progress, is a special source of pride and honour for Azerbaijan, as well as for the entire Turkic world.
Türkiye is one of the powerful countries that grows stronger day by day, develops rapidly, and has a say in the international world. Türkiye's strong industry, modern defence industry, and army that stands at the forefront of the world strengthen both Türkiye and its allies. All these significant achievements in political, economic, military, technological, and other fields have turned Türkiye into one of the most advanced countries in the world. We feel joy and happiness from all the achievements of the strong and powerful Republic of Türkiye as if it were our own success.
As a result of the rational and far-sighted policy implemented under the leadership of my dear brother President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the last 20 years, Türkiye has become the world's most important power centre and the guarantor of peace, stability, and security in our region. The fact that Türkiye''s clear stance based on justice and international law on all issues is taken into consideration in the global world is clear evidence of its influence and important role as a state. Türkiye's consistent and determined attitude towards establishing peace and stability and protecting rights and justice in the world and region where extremely complex processes are experienced has earned Türkiye high respect, sympathy, and trust at the international level.
Brotherly Türkiye also plays an exceptional role in the unification of the Turkic world. President Erdoğan has played an important role in strengthening the unity and solidarity of the Turkic world and cooperation among Turkic-speaking countries.
"We will never forget Türkiye's support"
In the 20th century, Türkiye's recognition of Azerbaijan, which regained its independence for the second time in the 20th century, and the establishment of diplomatic relations as an example of true brotherhood and solidarity were forever engraved in the national memory of the Azerbaijani people. Since the first years of its independence, Türkiye's active support for Azerbaijan's participation in the international community and its economic integration into the world, as well as its resolute stance against the occupation of Azerbaijani lands, are always remembered with gratitude by the people of Azerbaijan. The historic words of the Great Leader Atatürk, 'Azerbaijan's joy is our joy, its sorrow is our sorrow,' and National Leader Haydar Aliyev's 'One nation, two states' are the main guiding force of the relations between the two countries and the main factor of joint activities.
The determined attitude and comprehensive political and moral support of the Turkish people, especially President Erdoğan, who stood by us from the first hours to the last minutes of the 44-day Homeland War, which Azerbaijan waged to save its lands from occupation and to restore its territorial integrity, is a true example of brotherhood. This also showed the solidarity of Azerbaijan and Türkiye to the whole world once again. We will never forget this support.
Relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye have a unique nature. Today, we are witnessing the historical period of our relations, built on solid foundations such as common historical, national, and sentimental values and based on unshakable trust and support. Both our people are very lucky that Azerbaijan and Türkiye are the closest allies. By signing the historic Declaration of Alliance in Shusha in June 2021, we formalised our natural alliance, demonstrated our commitment to the legacy of our ancestors, and guided future generations.
Turkmenistan
Journalists working in Turkmenistan stated that they celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye.
"Salamnews" Director Bayram Nepesov stated that large-scale cooperation between Turkmenistan and Türkiye continues to this day in political, economic, educational, technical, construction, and trade fields.
Nepesov said, "These clearly show that Turkmen-Turkish friendship and brotherhood relations have reached a new level."
"Türkmenportal" news site Editor-in-Chief Resul Dovletmuradov said that extensive preparations have been made throughout the country since the beginning of the year for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye.
Dovletmuradov said, "When I went to Istanbul to attend the Turkic World Columnists Symposium in April, it was possible to see the 100th anniversary banners on the streets. Türkiye and the Turkish people are waiting for this special day."
Leyla Abjiyeva, a correspondent for the "Atavatan" news website, stated that the Republic, which was founded in 1923 under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, has become one of the most important countries in the world and the region under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Pakistan
"On behalf of the people and government of Pakistan, I extend my sincere congratulations to my brother, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye," said President Arif Alvi of Pakistan.
Alvi added that the Republic of Türkiye was founded on October 29, 1923, under the charismatic leadership of Türkiye's Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and that the ties between Pakistan and Türkiye go back a long time.
Alvi stated that there was a strong relationship between this region and Türkiye before the founding of the Republic of Türkiye and Pakistan, and he recalled that many people from this region fought alongside the Turks in the Russo-Turkish wars.
Alvi further recalled that Türkiye received assistance from this region and that Türkiye had always provided aid in return.
"Erdoğan has demonstrated a courageous stance on Gaza"
Referring to the issues in the Islamic world, Alvi emphasised that both the current and previous Turkish governments have demonstrated great leadership on the issue.
Alvi said that Türkiye stands with Pakistan on the Kashmir issue, highlighting that the exceptional relationship between Türkiye and Pakistan is founded on mutual understanding of international issues.
Alvi stated that Türkiye has shown outstanding leadership in the face of the atrocities in Gaza, adding, "My brother Erdoğan has demonstrated a courageous stance on Gaza. I believe the Islamic world will adopt a courageous stance on this issue as well."
The caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar of Pakistan extended the warmest felicitations to the brotherly people of Türkiye on the auspicious occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye.
Kakar shared a message of congratulations on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye.
PM Kakar said in his message, "On behalf of the government and people of Pakistan, I extend our warmest felicitations to the brotherly people of Türkiye on the auspicious occasion of the centenary of the Turkish Republic."
As the Turkish Republic was first proclaimed by the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye in Ankara on 29 October 1923, this momentous occasion also marked the culmination of the Turkish nation’s heroic struggle for freedom, led by the charismatic Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, added Kakar.
Citing the resolute grit and determination of the Turkish nation to preserve their independence, Kakar emphasised how it continues to inspire freedom loving people across the world.
Kakar noted that the people of Pakistan pray for continued prosperity and progress of the Turkish nation during the second century of the great Turkish Republic, as well as for the flourishing of the special relationship between the two nations in all times to come, and remarked in Turkish:
"Yaşasın Pakistan-Türkiye kardeşliği" (Long live the brotherhood and sisterhood between Pakistan and Türkiye).
Libya
Deputy Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mossa Al-Koni, told an AA correspondent that the Republic of Türkiye has been influential in all regional developments since its foundation.
"I would like to congratulate the Turkish people, President Erdoğan, and his government on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic," Koni said, adding in the last 20 years under Erdoğan's leadership, Türkiye has experienced a revolution not only in economic but also in the intellectual and moral terms.
Koni emphasised that everyone notices the material changes in Türkiye under President Erdoğan, but the greatest change is the one in the Turkish people's standing, adding: "Today, all nations are proud of and revere the Turkish people. Because the Turkish people achieved success in development and contributed to the development of their region. Türkiye has become an influential country on a global scale."
The Libyan politician emphasised President Erdoğan's exemplary leadership, stating:
"We have great admiration for Mr Erdoğan. He is an exemplary leader for those who wish to develop their country and lead their people. Through his astute policies in the Islamic world, Europe, and Asia, Erdoğan has succeeded in elevating Türkiye to the ranks of the major states. Erdoğan embodies the ideals of the youth and people of the Arab and Islamic worlds. Such exceptional leaders no longer exist in the world.
EU Delegation to Türkiye
ANKARA (AA) - Ambassador and Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Türkiye, Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, congratulated Türkiye on its 100th Republic anniversary, stating, "Türkiye is a candidate country for the European Union, a key NATO ally, and a strategic partner in a challenging region. We hope to continue strengthening our relations."
The EU Delegation to Türkiye posted a video message on social media platform X on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye.
The post, which featured a video message from Meyer-Landrut, said, "Happy 100th Anniversary of the Republic, Türkiye! On this special day, we celebrate the rich history, vibrant culture, and enduring spirit of Türkiye playing a pivotal role in connecting continents, bridging cultures, and fostering dialogue."
The United Kingdom
In a letter addressed to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, King Charles III of the United Kingdom extended warm congratulations for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye.
In his letter to President Erdoğan, King Charles wrote, "On this special occasion, the centenary of the founding of your country, I extend my most heartfelt congratulations to your excellency and the people of the Republic of Türkiye."
Stating that he fondly remembers the hospitality he encountered during his visit to Türkiye in 2015, King Charles remarked, "I would also like to express that I deeply admire the resilience shown by the people of Türkiye in their ongoing reconstruction efforts following the devastating earthquakes in February this year."
Wishing for continued friendship and close partnership between our two countries, King Charles noted in the letter:
"I am sure that this positive relationship will continue to go from strength to strength. As you and Turkish people everywhere celebrate Türkiye's centenary, my wife joins me in sending you our warmest good wishes."
