World leaders continue to send congratulatory messages to President Erdoğan

A growing number of world leaders have congratulated President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his election victory today.

GERMANY

In his congratulatory message, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier of Germany said, "Let me extend my congratulations on your re-election as the President of the Republic of Türkiye."

Steinmeier emphasised the significance of the close humanitarian, economic, and political ties between Türkiye and Germany, adding, "I would be delighted if we could contribute to the consolidation of positive relations between our countries. This is even more crucial in light of the challenges we face around the globe."

ARGENTINA

President Alberto Fernández of Argentina shared a congratulatory message on Twitter and said, "My congratulations to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his re-election as President of Türkiye. I hope that we continue working for the benefit of our peoples and that we consolidate cooperation in satellites, nuclear medicine and mining."

AUSTRALIA

In a post he shared on social media, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia said, "Congratulations to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his re-election. I look forward to further strengthening the longstanding, friendly bilateral ties between Australia and Türkiye."

BANGLADESH

President Mohammad Shahabuddin Chuppu of Bangladesh sent a message stating, "I am immensely delighted to learn about your re-election as the President of the Republic of Türkiye. I take this opportunity to convey my warmest congratulations and greetings on your historic victory."

THE UN

United Nations (UN) Secretary-General António Guterres congratulated President Erdoğan in a written statement and indicated that he looks forward to further strengthening the cooperation between Türkiye and the United Nations.

BOLIVIA

President Luis Arce of Bolivia congratulated President Erdoğan on his social media account and said, "We congratulate the democratic will of the people of the brotherly Republic of Türkiye and the re-election Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.  We wish him success in his term of office and reaffirm our ties of friendship and cooperation."

BURKINA FASO

President Ibrahim Traore of Burkina Faso noted that he is ready to improve bilateral relations.

BULGARIA

In a message issued, President Rumen Radev of Bulgaria said, "I believe the bilateral and multifaceted cooperation between Bulgaria and Türkiye, which has improved greatly over the past few years, will continue to expand. During his new tenure, President Erdoğan will continue to promote cooperation, good neighbourliness, mutual trust, and security in our region and Southeast Europe."

CHINA

President Xi Jinping of China congratulated President Erdoğan on his re-election.

According to a statement issued by the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Xi, in a congratulatory message sent to President Erdoğan, noted that China and Türkiye are both major developing countries and emerging markets, and the two countries share broad common interests.

Emphasising that China-Türkiye strategic cooperative relations have maintained the momentum of development over the years and that practical cooperation in various fields has made positive progress, Xi added, "I express my willingness to work with Erdoğan to understand and support each other on issues concerning our countries' respective core interests and major concerns, aiming to promote the sustained, sound, and stable development of China-Türkiye strategic cooperative relations."

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

President Luis Abinader of the Dominican Republic congratulated President Erdoğan and Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on his Twitter account, underlining the aim to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Abinader said, "I congratulate Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was re-elected in Türkiye, on behalf of the Dominican government."

ECUADOR

On his Twitter account, President Guillermo Lasso of Ecuador wished to continue working together for the well-being of both nations and said, "We congratulate the Turkish people for their peaceful and democratic re-election of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan."

INDONESIA

In a congratulatory message shared on his social media account, President Joko Widodo of Indonesia said, "Warmest congratulations to my dear brother President Erdoğan on his re-election. We are ready to continue and strengthen Indonesia-Türkiye's long-standing strategic partnership for the benefit of our peoples."

ESTONIA

President Alar Karis of Estonia, in his Twitter post, congratulated President Erdoğan on his re-election as president.

Karis stressed that he looks forward to continuing constructive cooperation between Türkiye and Estonia.

ETHIOPIA

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia congratulated President Erdoğan on his election victory and said he looks forward to further strengthening the relations between the two countries.

PALESTINE

President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine called President Erdoğan to extend his congratulations on re-election.

During the call, Abbas congratulated President Erdoğan on his electoral success and wished the election results to be auspicious for the Turkish people.

GHANA

On his Twitter account, President Akufo-Addo of Ghana congratulated President Erdoğan on his re-election.

President Akufo-Addo said, "I look forward to working with him and his administration to strengthen and deepen the bonds of friendship and cooperation that exist between our two countries, which have been based on a shared agenda of freedom, development, progress, and prosperity."

GUATEMALA

President Alejandro Giammattei of Guatemala, on his social media account, said, "I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for once again winning the democratic elections in Türkiye. I very much look forward to the continuation of prosperous relations between our countries on the ideal path."

SOUTH AFRICA

President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa congratulated President Erdoğan on his re-election.

The Presidency of South Africa's statement indicated that Ramaphosa congratulated President Erdoğan, following his successful election. The statement reads, "President Ramaphosa said South Africa looks forward to working with Türkiye under President Erdoğan to consolidate existing strong relations at the bilateral and multilateral levels."

SOUTH KOREA

President Yoon Suk Yeol of South Korea extended his congratulations to President Erdoğan on his victory in the second round of the presidential election.

In a post shared on his social media account, Yoon congratulated President Erdoğan on his re-election.

President Yoon of South Korea said, "I look forward to continuing to work with you to further enhance our strategic partnership and deepen the brotherhood of our people."

CROATIA

Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic of Crotia, in a tweet, congratulated President Erdoğan and said, "I look forward to continued cooperation and further advancing of Crotia-Türkiye relations."

INDIA

Prime Minister Nerandra Modi of India congratulated President Erdoğan on his electoral success.

In a tweet, Modi indicated that he is confident that the bilateral ties and cooperation on global issues between India and Türkiye will continue to grow in the coming times.

ISRAEL

President Isaac Herzog of Israel congratulated President Erdoğan on his election victory via phone call. During the call, President Herzog of Israel congratulated President Erdoğan on his re-election as president and wished the election results to be auspicious for the Turkish people.

JAPAN

Prime Minister Kishida Fumi of Japan congratulated President Erdoğan on his election victory. In a statement issued through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister Kishida Fumi of Japan said, "On behalf of the Japanese government and the Japanese people, I express my heartfelt congratulations on your re-election as President."

Kishida emphasised that Türkiye and Japan have historical and strong links despite being far apart in the west and east, and that diplomatic relations between the two nations would celebrate their 100th year in 2024.

CANADA

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada posted a message of congratulations on his social media account, stating, "I congratulate President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his election success. Our countries are solid allies with deep links, and I look forward to further deepening this collaboration and making progress for the Canadian and Turkish people."

KAZAKHSTAN

In a congratulations statement on his social media account, President Kassym Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan said, "Our countries are united by historical bonds of friendship and solidarity. This comprehensive cooperation strategy will be expanded."

KYRGYZSTAN

President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan remarked on his social media account, "My dear brother Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.  I am sincerely glad to congratulate you on your convincing victory in the runoff of the presidential elections.  Türkiye has set an example of open, competitive, and democratic elections."

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO

In a message on his official social media account, President Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) congratulated President Erdoğan on his re-election in the presidential runoff elections.

"The two heads of state aim to strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations and work together to consolidate peace, security, and stability in the world," Tshisekedi stated.

NORTH MACEDONIA

President Stevo Pendarovski of North Macedonia congratulated President Erdogan on his victory in Türkiye's presidential election in a post in Turkish on his Twitter account.

"We are ready to continue the development of excellent bilateral relations in various fields, economic cooperation, and alliance within NATO, all based on common interests," Pendarovski said.

CUBA

President Miguel Diaz-Canel of Cuba congratulated President Erdoğan on his social media account, stating, "We congratulate Recep Tayyip Erdoğan with our sincere wishes on the occasion of his re-election as President of the Republic of Türkiye. We wish him success in his duties, and we reiterate our willingness to continue promoting the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries."

LATVIA

President Egils Levits of Latvia also congratulated President Erdoğan in his Twitter post, saying, "Looking forward to constructive cooperation for security and prosperity in Europe and beyond."

LITHUANIA

President Gitanas Nauseda of Lithuania congratulated Erdoğan, saying, "Looking forward to welcoming you at the NATO Summit in Vilnius July 11-12 & working together to strengthen Allied security & helping Ukraine to succeed!    Alliance unity is our power!"

MADAGASCAR

"Long live the Madagascar-Türkiye cooperation," President Andry Rajoelina of Madagascar remarked, emphasising that the two countries will continue to collaborate.

MALAYSIA

In a message posted on social media, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia said, "Congratulations to H.E President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for being re-elected as the President of the Republic of Türkiye in the recent Presidential election.  Türkiye will continue to play constructive role as an important regional and global player.  Malaysia looks forward to working closely with Türkiye to further elevate our existing excellent bilateral relations."

NIGERIA

President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria also said in a statement that President Erdoğan, whom he congratulated on his victory, was a true friend of Nigeria.

PARAGUAY

President Mario Abdo Benitez of Paraguay also shared a message on his Twitter account, "Congratulations to President Erdoğan on his election victory for a new term and to the Turkish people for this democratic day."

POLAND

President Andrzej Duda of Poland, in his message shared in Turkish and Polish on Twitter, said, "I congratulate President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who won the presidential election. This year we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye and the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship between Poland and Türkiye. We are ready to work together to ensure regional security, NATO development and peace in Europe."

ROMANIA

President Klaus Iohannis of Romania also tagged President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his Twitter account and posted a message, "Congratulations, President @RTErdogan, for your re-election! I am looking forward to continuing our close cooperation based on the strategic partnership between our countries."

SIERRA LEONE

In a statement, President Bio of Sierra Leone congratulated Erdoğan on behalf of the people of Sierra Leone and stated that he looked forward to continuing to work with President Erdoğan to advance the strong and reliable relationship that exists between his country and Türkiye.

SLOVENIA

President Nataša Pirc Musar of Slovenia congratulated President Erdoğan on her Twitter account and said, "We look forward to continuing the strategic dialogue between Slovenia and Türkiye, to strengthening our partnership in NATO and to promoting peace and security in the world."

CHILE

The Chilean government congratulated President Erdoğan for his success in the presidential runoff election.

In a statement made on its Twitter account, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile reported that The Government of Chile congratulated President Erdoğan on his re-election.

The post, which stated that Turkish people fulfilled their democratic duty in the most correct way, said, "Chile declares its determination to continue working for the benefit of both peoples."

TOGO

President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé of Togo congratulated President Erdoğan on his re-election and pointed out that they would try to expand the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

TURKMENISTAN

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan sent a congratulatory message to President Erdoğan.

Berdimuhamedov wholeheartedly congratulated President Erdoğan on his political success and victory based on democratic will, and he wished the newly re-elected President Erdoğan great success in future state affairs.

JORDAN

King Abdullah II of Jordan sent a congratulatory telegram to President Erdoğan for his success in the elections.

In the telegram, King Abdullah emphasised his determination to strengthen bilateral relations in a way that would serve the interests of the two countries and their peoples and contribute to the development of regional and international peace and prosperity, and conveyed his wishes to President Erdoğan for success, the Turkish people for further progress and prosperity.

GREECE

Prime Minister  Ioannis Sarmas of Greece congratulated President Erdoğan on his re-election and wished peace and prosperity to the Turkish nation.

ZAMBIA

In his post on his Twitter account, President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia said, "Congratulations to H.E Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on being re-elected President of the Republic of Türkiye. We look forward to deepening our strategic partnership for greater peace, prosperity and progress of our two nations."

PAKISTAN

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan called President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by phone and congratulated him on his election victory. He wished the election results would be auspicious for the Turkish people and congratulated President Erdoğan on his re-election to the Presidency.

GUINEA-BISSAU

President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea-Bissau called President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by phone and congratulated him on his election victory. Embaló wished the election results would be auspicious for the Turkish people and congratulated President Erdoğan on his re-election to the Presidency.

THE US

The White House made a statement addressing President Joe Biden's congratulations on Erdoğan's re-election as President by calling President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his victory in the Presidential Election's second round.

According to the statement, the two leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to continue working together "as close partners to deepen cooperation" between the US and Türkiye.

MOROCCO

King Mohammed VI of Morocco congratulated President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his re-election as President.

In his message of congratulations to President Erdoğan on his election victory, King Mohammed VI stated, "I wish him success on the path he will lead for the continued progress and prosperity of the Turkish people."

NIGERIA

The recently-elected President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria congratulated President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his victory.

In a message shared on his social media account, Tinubu congratulated President Erdoğan on his recent electoral victory, an unmistakable sign that he retains the full trust and confidence of the Turkish people.

TANZANIA

In a post shared on her official Twitter account, President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania heartfeltly congratulated President Erdoğan on being re-elected.

Hassan stated, "I look forward to our continued collaboration in fostering Tanzania and Türkiye's economic and diplomatic ties."

IRAN

Chairman of the National Trust Party Elias Hazrati said, "My dear brother, Mr Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, I congratulate you on your victory in the presidential elections, which is an indicator of democracy."

In a statement made on his Twitter account, spokesperson of the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen Mohammed Abdul-Salam stated that they congratulated the Muslim Turkish people on President Erdoğan's re-election and President Erdoğan for his success in the elections.

MALI

In a tweet, Mali's Transitional President Colonel Assimi Goïta congratulated President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his re-election. Goita stated that this victory is testimony to the support of the people of Türkiye for their political ideals and embodies a glimmer of hope for a just and multipolar world.

President Paul Biya of Cameroon congratulated President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his election success and wished him success.

VENEZUELA

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro called President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by phone and congratulated him on his election success, wishing the results to be auspicious to the Turkish people.

GHANA

Students in Ghana celebrated President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's election success with Turkish flags in their hands.

Fatma Farida School Principal Suleman Watara stated that they are very happy that President Erdoğan won the election and said, "Erdoğan is not only the leader of Türkiye, but also an important leader in the Islamic world.”

NATO

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by phone and congratulated him on his election success and wished the results would be auspicious for the Turkish people. 

LIBYA

Chairman of the High Council of the State of Libya Khaled Ammar Al Mishri called President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by phone and congratulated him on his election success, wishing the results to be auspicious to the Turkish people.

DJIBOUTI

In a post on social media for President Erdoğan, President Ismail Omar Guelleh of Djibouti said, "Under your leadership, Türkiye has left its mark on the development success models among the great powers."

UGANDA

In a written statement, President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda congratulated President Erdoğan on behalf of the government and people of Uganda, saying, "In keeping with the historical ties between Uganda and Türkiye, I reaffirm our steadfast support for the bilateral relations between the two countries."

ARAB LEAGUE

In a message congratulating President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his re-election, Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit said, "I sincerely congratulate you on your re-election as President of the Republic of Türkiye, and I wish you and the Turkish people success and prosperity."

GAMBIA

In a tweet, President Barrow of Gambia congratulated President Erdoğan and the Turkish people on the successful election held in Türkiye, saying, "On behalf of the people of Gambia, I wish you (President Erdoğan) a successful term."

LIBERIA

According to a statement from the Liberian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Weah congratulated President Erdoğan on behalf of the government and people of Liberia on his re-election.

"I express my confidence in the resilient and foresighted elected President of Türkiye, and I wish him to continue in his post with the serenity brought by peace, unity, and prosperity," Weah said.

SOUTH SUDAN

South Sudan's President Mayardit sent a message of congratulations to re-elected President Erdoğan.

ERITREA

In his congratulatory message to President Erdoğan, President Afwerki of Eritrea expressed confidence that his re-election will improve the Republic of Türkiye's economic development and progress, as well as bilateral cooperation ties between Eritrea and Türkiye.

SERBIA

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with President Aleksandar Vučić of Serbia. President Vučić of Serbia expressed his congratulations to President Erdoğan on his re-election.

KOSOVO

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with Prime Minister Kurti of Kosovo. Kurti congratulated Erdoğan on his re-election as President.

 

During the phone call that addressed bilateral relations and regional issues, President Erdoğan, as regards the developments taking place in the north of Kosovo, stated that ensuring progress in the dialogue process is the only method for the establishment of lasting peace and stability in the region.

President Erdoğan noted that Türkiye stands ready to make the necessary contributions to the dialogue process.

HUNGARY

Prime Minister Victor Orbán of Hungary called President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to congratulate him on his re-election as President.

During the phone call, Orbán congratulated President Erdoğan on his election victory and expressed hope that the new era would be auspicious for the Turkish people.

President Erdoğan, for his part, congratulated Prime Minister Viktor Orbán of Hungary on his birthday.

SOMALI

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia called President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to congratulate him on his election victory.

During the phone call, President Sheikh Mahmud of Somali congratulated President Erdoğan on his re-election as President and expressed hope that the election results would be auspicious for the Turkish people.

ITALY

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni of Italy congratulated President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his re-election as President and expressed hope that the election results would auspicious for the Turkish people.
