World leaders congratulate President Erdoğan on his election victory

World leaders congratulated President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his success in the Presidential elections.

Albania

In his congratulatory message in Turkish and Albanian, Prime Minister Edi Rama of Albania shared a post on his Facebook account, saying, "Congratulations on your victory, Mr President." 

Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan called President Erdoğan and congratulated him on his victory in the election.

Aliyev stated that he viewed this victory as the Turkish people’s trust in the policy pursued by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and expressed his confidence that the all-round development of Türkiye would continue in the years to come under the leadership of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Aliyev wished Recep Tayyip Erdoğan continued success in his efforts to improve the welfare of the Turkish people and the country's development.

Belgium

Prime Minister Alexander de Croo of Belgium congratulated President Erdoğan on his Twitter account and said, "Belgium and Türkiye are solid partners and we will continue to work closely together - bilaterally and in NATO - for a stable Europe and a stable world.

United Arab Emirates

President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) congratulated President Erdoğan on his success in the second round of the Presidential Election.

According to the UAE's official news agency, WAM, President Al Nahyan of the UAE issued a congratulatory message for President Erdoğan and Türkiye.

Al Nahyan also shared the following post on his Twitter account:

"Congratulations to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his re-election as President of Türkiye. We look forward to working together to further enhance the strategic partnership between our two countries, and we wish ongoing progress and prosperity for Türkiye and its people."

Bosnia and Herzegovina

Chairperson and Serbian Member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidential Council Željka Cvijanović stated in her congratulatory message that President Erdoğan's election success depends on the policy he pursued and said, "Esteemed President, I sincerely congratulate you on your success in the second round of the election."

Emphasising that the Turkish people have chosen a path that includes economic growth, social well-being as well as regional stability, Cvijanović underlined that they would continue their cooperation with Türkiye more firmly.

Algeria

According to a written statement made by the Presidency of Algeria, President Tebboune issued a congratulatory message to President Erdoğan, who led the second round of presidential elections in Türkiye.

In his message beginning with "Distinguished President and Dear Brother," Tebboune said, "We welcome the reaffirmation of the people of brotherly Türkiye's confidence in you with pleasure and joy, and we congratulate you on behalf of myself and the Algerian people."

Armenia

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia posted a congratulatory message to President Erdoğan on his Twitter account.

Pashinyan said, "Congratulations to President Erdoğan on his re-election. Looking forward to continuing working together towards full normalisation of relations between our countries."

Palestine

President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine, Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh, Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Heniyye, Deputy Head of Islamic Movement in 1948-occupied Palestine and Head of the Freedoms Committee Sheikh Kamal al-Khatib and Masjid al-Aqsa Imam Preacher Sheikh Ekrima Sa'id Sabri congratulated President Erdoğan on his election success.

Sending his "brotherly congratulations" to the Turkish people and the President, as the "People of Palestine and the Palestinian Presidency", in a written statement, President Abbas of Palestine said, "We are sure that, Allah willing, you will continue on the path of development, and you will achieve great success for Türkiye and its brotherly people."

France

President Emmanuel Macron of France congratulated President Erdoğan with a post he shared on Twitter.

In his message, Macron said, "There are great challenges that France and Türkiye will overcome together. Return of peace to Europe, future of our Euro-Atlantic Alliance, Mediterranean Sea. With President Erdoğan, whom I congratulate on his re-election, we will continue to move forward."

Georgia

Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili of Georgia said on his social media account, "Congratulations to President Erdoğan, a great friend of Georgia, on his convincing re-election as the leader of Türkiye! Turkish people have spoken and we join in their celebration. We are eager to further enhance the bonds of friendship and strategic partnership between the Republic of Türkiye and Georgia."

The Netherlands

Prime Minister Mark Rutte of the Netherlands said on his Twitter account, "Congratulations to Erdoğan on his re-election as President of the Republic of Türkiye.  I wish him every success in the years ahead. I look forward to continuing to strengthen the Netherlands - Türkiye relations and working together as friends and allies."

IKRG

President Nechirvan Barzani of Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government (IKRG) issued a congratulatory message to President Erdoğan and Türkiye for their success in the election.

In his message, Barzani said, "On behalf of the Kurdistan Region, I congratulate Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on being re-elected as President of Türkiye. I look forward to continue working together to further advance the ties between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq with Türkiye."

Iraq

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani of Iraq, in his congratulatory message to President Erdoğan on Twitter, said, "We wholeheartedly congratulate our brother President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his re-election as President of the Republic of Türkiye, having earned the trust of the Turkish people. We aspire for further progress and prosperity in Iraqi-Turkish relations, and strengthening our bonds of friendship and mutual cooperation."

Italy

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni of Italy said in a written statement on President Erdoğan's election success, "I congratulate President Erdoğan on his election victory. Italy and Türkiye are allies and share important responsibilities in the Mediterranean and around the world. Together, we can do more for our peoples, growth, and global stability."

The United Kingdom

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak of the United Kingdom congratulated President Erdoğan in a post he shared on his Twitter account.

In his post, Sunak said, "I look forward to continuing the strong collaboration between our countries, from growing trade to tackling security threats as NATO allies."

Montenegro

Rifat Feyzic, President of the Islamic Union of Montenegro, posted a photo of himself and President Erdoğan on his social media account with the caption, "Congratulations, Mr. President."

Qatar

Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar congratulated President Erdoğan on prevailing in the Presidential elections in Türkiye.

In his post on social media, Amir Sheikh Tamim said, "My dear brother Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, congratulations on your victory. I wish you success in your new term. During your term, I wish for you to achieve what the brotherly Turkish people aspire to in terms of progress and prosperity, to strengthen the bonds between our nations, and to further develop these ties."

TRNC

The Foreign Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, congratulated President Erdoğan on his victory in the Presidential runoff election.

In his congratulatory message issued for President Erdoğan, Minister Ertuğruloğlu said, "I wholeheartedly congratulate you on your election as President of the Republic of Türkiye, as an outcome of your victory in the presidential runoff election on May 28, 2023, in our homeland, Türkiye. In the election on May 14, after the People's Alliance under your leadership won the majority in the Assembly, the Turkish people re-elected you as President of the Republic, demonstrating their confidence in your leadership and opting for stability.

Kosovo

Albin Kurti, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, congratulated President Erdoğan on his success in the second-round runoff for the presidential elections.

In a post on his social media account, Kurti congratulated President Erdoğan on his successful presidential re-election and said, "Looking forward to further deepen strategic bilateral cooperation between Kosovo and Türkiye.

Libya

Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity of Libya, congratulated President Erdoğan for his victory in the election.

According to a statement published on the official Facebook page of the Office of the Prime Minister of Libya, "Hukumetina," Dbeibeh spoke with President Erdoğan via telephone.

In addition to congratulating President Erdoğan on his reelection, Prime Minister Dbeibeh touched on the bilateral relationship between the two nations.

Lebanon

Prime Minister Najib Mikati of Lebanon congratulated President Erdoğan via phone call.

According to the official news agency of Lebanon, NNA, "Mikati congratulated Erdoğan on his victory."

Hungary

Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary congratulated President Erdoğan, who won the second round of the presidential election according to unofficial results, on his "unquestionable election victory."

Orban congratulated President Erdoğan in his tweet both in English and Turkish.

Orban's tweet in English reads, "Congratulations to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his unquestionable election victory," and he added, "Congratulations, Mr. President!" in Turkish.

Malta

Minister of Foreign Affairs, EU Affairs, and Trade of Malta Ian Borg also congratulated President Erdoğan on his election success.

Borg said on his tweet, "Heartfelt congratulations to President Erdoğan for his important victory. I wish the Turkish Government every success in building a better future for its people."

Egypt

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt sent a congratulatory message to President Erdoğan.

The Egyptian Presidency stated that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt sent a message to -President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye on the occasion of Erdoğan's  victory in the presidential elections and his re-election as President.

Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan congratulated President Erdoğan on his success in the presidential election runoff.

In a statement on Twitter, Sharif congratulated President Erdoğan on his success in the presidential election runoff.

President Erdoğan is one of few world leaders whose politics has been anchored in public service. He has been a pillar of strength for the oppressed Muslims and a fervent voice for their inalienable rights, Sharif said.

Russia

In a congratulatory message to President Erdoğan on his success in the election, President Vladimir Putin of Russia stated that the victory in the elections was the logical outcome of Erdoğan's dedicated work as President of the Republic of Türkiye, adding, "The victory was a clear demonstration of the Turkish people’s support for your efforts to consolidate state sovereignty and pursue an independent foreign policy."

Appreciating President Erdoğan's contribution to strengthening friendly Russian-Turkish relations and mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas, Putin added, "I would like to affirm my readiness to continue our constructive dialogue concerning relevant issues on the bilateral, regional, and international agenda."

Serbia

Sulejman Ugljanin, the Head of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) in Serbia, said in a Twitter post that they congratulated President Erdoğan on behalf of Sandžak, a region in Serbia with a significant Bosnian population.

Sulejman Ugljanin stated that freedom, development, and justice policies have prevailed in Türkiye, that the Turkish people have enabled the continued development of a stable, powerful, and modern Türkiye, and that President Erdoğan's victory has given peace and joy to the entire Balkan region.

Somalia

Congratulating President Erdoğan, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said, "Türkiye and Somalia have a long history of mutual respect and cooperation. Moreover, the two countries have a robust partnership."

In a post shared on his Twitter account Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre of Somalia underlined that President Erdoğan's re-election demonstrates the trust and support for your leadership, and added, "We look forward to seeing the bonds between our two brotherly nations grow and our nations prosper."

Sudan

Sudanese army chief General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan congratulated President Erdoğan on his success in the presidential election runoff.

Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated President Erdoğan on his Twitter account.

Zelenskyy said in his message, "I congratulate President Erdoğan on his victory in the presidential elections. We hope that our cooperation will be enhanced for the security and stability of Europe, and that our strategic partnership will be strengthened further for the benefit of our countries. "

Jordan

Yassin al-Husban, Chairman of the Turkish-Jordanian Friendship Committee in the Jordanian Parliament, also congratulated President Erdoğan.

Husban, in a statement to AA correspondent, indicated that Türkiye teaches the rest of the world a lesson on democracy and that relations between the two countries will continue to improve in the years to come.

Venezuela

President Nicolás Maduro of Venezuela posted images of President Erdoğan visiting the Hagia Sophia Mosque and voting today in a message of congratulations on his Twitter account.

Maduro stated, "Venezuela celebrates our brother and friend's victory. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has become the winner of the Turkish presidential and parliamentary elections. We congratulate the Turkish people on this victory. We desire to continue collaborating to construct the new world. Long live Türkiye!"
