President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the groundbreaking ceremony of Esenyurt Education Campus in Istanbul.
Congratulating the students who successfully completed the first semester of the 2022-2023 academic year, and thanking the teachers who work to educate their students in the best way possible, President Erdoğan said: “We work tirelessly to further improve the quality of education as a whole with our teachers, students, families, administrators and ministry.”
“WE HAVE REALIZED MANY PROJECTS ACROSS OUR COUNTRY”
“With the aim of facilitation our children’s access to education and protecting their future, we have realized many projects across our country,” President Erdoğan said.
Underscoring the importance of Istanbul as a world city admired by the entire humanity, President Erdoğan said: “In the past 20 years, we have invested TL90 billion in total on education alone in Istanbul. This year alone, we area investing TL17 billion on education in our city. We aim to ensure that Istanbul, with its performance in education, sets an example to and lead our other provinces.”
Underlining that they always allocated the lion’s share of the budget to education since they came into power, President Erdoğan said: “This year, our total education budget has reached TL651 billion. We have increased the total number of our classrooms from 343 thousand to 612 thousand. We have appointed 750 thousand new teachers so far.”

“With all the investments we made, we have not only compensated for our country’s century-long shortcomings, but also carried Türkiye to the verge of a great rise,” President Erdoğan said.
“The name of that rise is the Century of Türkiye. The Century of Türkiye is the shared cause, purpose and ideal of our 85 million citizens,” President Erdoğan said.
“With the Century of Türkiye, we aim to make this century the century of our nation. We will elevate the Century of Türkiye on the robust experience and know-how we have gained in the past 20 years in our country. That’s why 2023 is of utmost importance,” President Erdoğan underlined.
With regard to recent remarks by Greece, President Erdoğan said: “They say, ‘Türkiye produced a missile called Typhoon. What if it hits Athens?’ As long as you act wisely, we have no thought of striking Athens. When you attempt to arm the Islands, will we be sitting idle with our hands tied? Look, Mitsotakis, you're talking here and there again. Keep in mind that the crazy Turks will march if you attempt to make a mistake."
