Addressing AK Party’s provincial heads via videoconference, President Erdoğan said: “We won’t need additional measures if our citizens keep themselves in voluntary quarantine. However, way stricter measures will become inevitable if such precautions as staying home, practicing social distancing and maintaining hygiene are ignored and the pandemic gets more widespread.”
President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed via videoconference the party’s provincial heads.
“Turkey's strong healthcare infrastructure is its greatest advantage''
Wishing Allah’s mercy upon those who died from the coronavirus and extending his condolences to their relatives, President Erdoğan noted that Turkey’s greatest advantage in the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak derives from the fact that it has a strong healthcare infrastructure and had launched the fight against the pandemic at an earlier stage. Pointing to the problems experienced by many countries across the world in the pandemic process, President Erdoğan stressed that necessary steps are being taken so as to prevent Turkey from facing such problems.
Underlining that the implementation of the measures aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus is being closely monitored and that any negligence or violation is being duly handled, President Erdoğan said that the primary goal is to ensure that Turkey emerges from this process with the least damage possible.
Reiterating his call on the citizens to stay at home and minimize social mobility, President Erdoğan said: “We won’t need additional measures if our citizens keep themselves in voluntary quarantine. However, way stricter measures will become inevitable if such precautions as staying home, practicing social distancing and maintaining hygiene are ignored and the pandemic gets more widespread.”
