Speaking at AFAD Coordination Center in Hatay, President Erdoğan, as regards the 10 provinces that the latest two earthquakes had hit, said: “We will revive all our cities with their houses, workplaces, industries, agriculture, historical and cultural values, not allowing the slightest regression or the slightest neglect.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered remarks following the meeting held at the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) Coordination Center in Hatay.
Earlier in the day President Erdoğan and Chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Devlet Bahçeli visited the earthquake-hit sites in Hatay.
Afterwards, President Erdoğan met with Patriarch of the Syriac Orthodox Church Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarchal Vicar of the Syriac Orthodox Church Yusuf Çetin, Archbishop Patriarchal Secretary Joseph Bali, Reverend Haitham Bahhu and Reverend Ghassan Al Chami.
“WE HAVE MOBILIZED ALL THE MEANS OF OUR STATE”
Stating during his remarks at AFAD Coordination Center that all the ministries, institutions, municipalities and nongovernmental organizations had been mobilized immediately after the two earthquakes that had hit Kahramanmaraş and its 9 neighboring provinces, President Erdoğan said: “We have mobilized all the means of our state and our nation to reach the region, launch the search and rescue works, and organize the relief efforts. Aside from those directly in charge of such works, we have sent all civil servants and all nongovernmental organizations, who can take part in the search and rescue efforts and debris removal works as well as in relief and security works, from our 81 provinces to the earthquake zone.”
President Erdoğan underscored that 271 thousand support, relief and security personnel, over 35 thousand of them search and rescue staff, had taken part in the works carried out since the moment of the earthquake, and that over 12 thousand heavy equipment from various provinces of Türkiye had been used in the debris removal works and infrastructure activities.

Further stressing that 77 planes, 120 helicopters, 38 ships and 45 unmanned aerial vehicles, which belong to public institutions, the Ministry of National Defence, the Turkish National Police and the Gendarmerie in particular, had taken part in rescue, relief and evacuation efforts, President Erdoğan said that hundreds of nongovernmental organizations, particularly Kızılay, from across Türkiye had stood with the earthquake victims.
“All our citizens living in the earthquake zone may rest assured that we will revive all our cities with their houses, workplaces, industries, agriculture, historical and cultural values, not allowing the slightest regression or the slightest neglect. We as the state and the nation will protect this region that harbors not only our but also the entire humanity’s common heritage,” the President noted.
