Speaking at the opening ceremony of the new service building of the Confederation of Public Servants Trade Unions (Memur-Sen), President Erdoğan said: “We, the 82 million citizens, should set aside our differences of political opinion and act jointly as the ‘Alliance of Turkey’ on issues that concern our country’s survival. We should all share the burden for a Turkey which inspires confidence in its citizens and brothers.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan inaugurated Memur-Sen’s new service building and made a speech at a conference on threats and opportunities regarding future businesses and professions.
“In recent years, Turkey has faced a multipronged smear campaign which also has an international aspect"
Pointing out that Turkey has faced in recent years a multipronged smear campaign which also has an international aspect, President Erdoğan said: “We are cognizant of the fact that the underlying cause of this anti-Turkey campaign is the principled stance we have displayed on the issues of Syria, Palestine, Yemen and Egypt as well as our sensitivity concerning the rising Islamophobia. Those attacks further escalate as we raise our voice against global injustices.”
“News reports against us multiply as we highlight the double standards regarding the fight against terror and the issue of refugees,” President Erdoğan underscored, adding: “The annoyance of those who seek to perpetuate old habits grows deeper as our people hold onto their will, independence, rights and freedoms.”
"Elections on March 31 were held in an atmosphere of democracy festival”
Noting that Turkey successfully completed a marathon of election on March 31, President Erdoğan stated: “The elections were held on March 31 in an atmosphere of democracy festival in Turkey, which is a democratic state of law. There were of course some disputes and differences of opinion. Yet, this situation doesn’t pose an obstacle to our acknowledgement of the fact that our democracy has once again functioned successfully.”
“A 4.5 year-long continuous period of action now lies ahead of our country,” President Erdoğan underlined, and continued: “As the 82 million citizens, we should make the most of this period. We should leave behind election debates and focus on our true agenda, first and foremost economy and security. It is now time to once again cool the hot iron, shake hands, hug each other and reinforce our unity and solidarity. Our target in the upcoming 4.5 year-long period is to enhance our people’s prosperity as well as to achieve Turkey’s goals for 2023 by preserving the security-freedom balance and eliminating threats against our country.”
President Erdoğan went on to say: “We, the 82 million citizens, should set aside our differences of political opinion and act jointly as the ‘Alliance of Turkey’ on issues that concern our country’s survival. We should all share the burden for a Turkey which inspires confidence in its citizens and brothers. Only this way can we resolve the problems of our public servants, workers, farmers, industrialists and merchants.”
