Speaking at the launch of TRT Youth, the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation’s (TRT) new TV channel, President Erdoğan said: “We should determinedly deal with the issue of addiction, addressing it through a new approach that goes beyond public awareness campaigns. I expect TRT to assume a pioneering role in raising awareness among our citizens, as well as in generating unique, influential and high-quality projects that set an example for the whole media.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the launch of TRT Youth channel.
Underscoring that family is one of the battlefields where culture wars are waged in today’s world, President Erdoğan stated: “The siege and assaults that the family institution comes under today have no precedent in scale in history. Perversion and perverse relationships are being encouraged by means of characters that are embedded everywhere, relevant or irrelevant, from TV shows to movies, from cartoons to games and toys. In this regard, I consider it very valuable that TRT is endeavoring to popularize family-friendly clean content both on traditional platforms as well as on digital platforms such as Tabii.”
President Erdoğan said: “We should all know that in our view, TRT’s success derives from its ability to make productions all members of any given family can watch without any concerns, with their minds at ease. I believe this type of TV programs will grow in number and diversity with the launch of TRT Youth today.”
President Erdoğan further stressed: “We should determinedly deal with the issue of addiction, addressing it through a new approach that goes beyond public awareness campaigns. As I always say, a youth that is as spiritually strong as it is physically is our most impregnable fortress against such social maladies. It is these sensitivities that drive us to promote a youth that owns ideals, vision, and self-confidence, and has commitment to its national and moral values.”
