Holding a joint press conference with President Tinubu of Nigeria, President Erdoğan said: “We see that we harbor an important potential in the areas of trade and investments. During our meetings today, we reaffirmed our commitment to the five-billion-dollar trade volume target and discussed the steps to be taken.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria held a joint press conference following their meeting at the Presidential Complex.
Describing Nigeria as a country of strategic importance with which Türkiye closely cooperates at the OIC and the D8 on issues of close concern to the Islamic word, first and foremost Palestine, President Erdoğan said: “With Mr. President and his esteemed delegation, today we had a thorough review of our relations in the fields of trade, investments, energy, education and defense industry.”
President Erdoğan stated: “We took decisions that will significantly elevate our relations, the framework of which we had established during our visit to Nigeria in October 2021. I am pleased to witness that the Nigerian side shares our strong political will and determination in this regard. The large number of ministers and high-level officials accompanying Mr. President is the most obvious indication of this. We see that we harbor an important potential in the areas of trade and investments. During our meetings today, we reaffirmed our commitment to the five-billion-dollar trade volume target and discussed the steps to be taken.”
