“We have revived 5,500 artifacts from our ancestors in the past 21 years”

Addressing a Waqf Week event, President Erdoğan said: “In the past 21 years, we have revived 5,500 artifacts from our ancestors in our country and across our kindred geographies.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the Waqf Week Mass Opening Ceremony at Beştepe Nation’s Convention and Culture Center.

“We reach out to and unearth all the artifacts and cultural heritage belonging to our ancestors not only in Türkiye, in Anatolia or Thrace, but wherever they are in the world. In the past 21 years, we have revived 5,500 artifacts from our ancestors in our country and across our kindred geographies. Thank Allah, we have successfully restored, rebuilt and rejuvenated a lot of artifacts, too many to list here,” President Erdoğan said.

Praising the efforts exerted for the revival of waqf facilities that were damaged in the February 6 earthquakes, President Erdoğan conveyed his appreciations to anyone who contributes to the formation and preservation of the waqf civilization.

“TÜRKİYE IS THE TOP PROVIDER OF AID TO GAZA”

Drawing attention to the relief supplies provided by Türkiye to Gaza, President Erdoğan stated: “Türkiye is now the top provider of aid to Gaza in the world, having sent a total of 50,000 tons of humanitarian aid. We are stepping up the pressure in the realms of diplomacy and trade to force the Israeli administration, which is getting increasingly more brutal, into a ceasefire. After having imposed restrictions on the export of 54 product groups in the initial phase, we halted all exports to and imports from Israel as of last week. We have also decided to become a party to the genocide case filed against Israel at the International Court of Justice. We will utilize all our means to ensure that the murderers of 35 thousand people, including 15 thousand children, are brought to justice. I believe the decisions we take will instill courage in other countries looking for an end to the bloodshed in the region.”

Stressing that the Turkish nation, rushing to the Palestinians’ aid in their difficult time, is not only fulfilling its duty of fraternity but also acting as the conscience of humanity, President Erdoğan described Türkiye as one of the countries scoring the highest in the Gaza test, and added: “AFAD, Turkish Red Crescent, Directorate General of Foundations and our voluntary organizations play an important role in this success. In your presence, I congratulate all our people and organizations that support the victims and the innocent wherever they are in the world.”
